OPTX International OPENS DOOR TO SOUTH KOREA FOR SCREENWATCH™ SOFTWARE

Chico, Calif.—OPTX International, the first to provide true-to-source
screen capture for streaming media, opens South Korean markets for its
ScreenWatch™ software by selecting Daou Technology as a distributor. With
ScreenWatch, OPTX is the leader in providing full-motion, screen recording
capabilities coupled with the ability to stream live or archived application
output from a computer monitor over the Internet or over corporate intranets
at low bandwidths.
Daou Technology sells over 120 billion won ($108 million US) of goods and
services, employing over 260 people. Founded in 1986, Daou Technology has
three divisions. Its e-Business Division specializes in industrial solutions
for telecommunications, government, banking, and manufacturing markets.
Daou’s e-Solution Division provides Internet solutions for e-commerce,
distance learning, and cyber trading. The Service Division is an application
solution provider.
Operating out of Seoul, South Korea, Daou Technology distributes
ScreenWatch software to the country’s business and education markets. "OPTX
and Daou are a good match. There’s a growing demand for distance learning
capabilities in Korea," comments Daou President, Jong-Hwan Kim, speaking
from his Seoul office. "ScreenWatch is key to satisfying this demand because
users can produce the highest quality Internet-ready training possible.
ScreenWatch saves money with its simple, direct process, allowing clients to
develop streamable training in weeks--not months."
OPTX International’s Vice President of Sales, Joe Bacchus, agrees,
"Daou’s position in the Internet-based education market extends ScreenWatch
into Asia where there’s fantastic growth potential. Daou is a RealNetworks™
distributor in Korea, and OPTX is a RealNetworks partner, so it’s natural for
us to work together."
OPTX streams content over RealNetworks G2 Servers on Solaris™, Linux and
Windows NT
operating systems. ScreenWatch records computer screen activity using
Windows NT with playback
using RealNetworks media technology on Windows NT ’95, ’98, and 2000.
ScreenWatch includes CODEC 2000 technology, an OPTX innovation that allows
playback at frame rates as high as 60 fps, even over low-speed, dial-up
network links, giving users the smoothest, most realistic playback of any
screen capture on the market today.
ScreenWatch users include the United States Navy, Siebel Systems, MERANT,
Harvard University, Stanford University, and University of Maryland. For
