OPTX International Marks One Year Anniversary of ScreenWatch With Release of New 2.0 Version

CHICO, Calif., May 16, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- OPTX International, the
leader in distortion-free screen recording software, marks the one-year
anniversary of its ScreenWatch software with the release of its new 2.0 version.
This new version of ScreenWatch offers a lower compression rate and improved
user interface. With ScreenWatch 2.0, multimedia content developers can optimize
throughput with the software's new defined region recording capabilities.
ScreenWatch 2.0 will be at the RealNetworks Show in the OPTX Booth #734.

CAD-TV's Chief Executive Officer, David Kingsley, and Senior Hardware Engineer Steve Campanella from RealNetworks(TM) are two ScreenWatch users. Kingsley commented recently, "As soon as I was introduced to ScreenWatch, I snagged it because it is the only software that will stream a whole screen image into a lossless video image that is crystal clear." He added, "ScreenWatch is the only software that allows us to do large screen captures at low bandwidths and now the 2.0 version will offer me even more benefits." Campanella, who produces and conducts internal training at RealNetworks, commented, "I've been using ScreenWatch for the past four months, and I really like its powerful capturing capabilities. Its new enhanced bandwidth consolidation allows me to create a fluid presentation."

Since May 1999, this full-motion, screen-recording software has provided users with the ability to stream application output from a computer monitor over the Internet or intranet without any loss in image quality or screen content. It also includes CODEC2000 technology that reduces bandwidth by 30 to 40 percent for ScreenWatch content. ScreenWatch records computer screen activity using Windows NT and playback utilities in Windows '95, '98, and NT. ScreenWatch customers include the U.S. Navy, Harvard University, Stanford University, Merant, University of Maryland, National Medical Library, Siebel Systems, Digital Lava, and the University of North Texas.
