OPTX International’s Classroom Edition™ Featuring ScreenWatch Producer™ Expands Education Beyond the Lecture Hall

ScreenWatch Producer is Specifically Designed for Recording, Streaming, and Archiving Standup Classroom Instruction

Chico, Calif. (Feb. 18, 2002)-OPTX International's Classroom Edition™ expands education beyond the lecture hall with its new ScreenWatch Producer™ software. This software is specifically designed for recording, streaming, and archiving standup classroom instruction. It features a new Slide Navigator™ with an automatically generated table of contents, a Presentation Manager™ that tracks lectures, and a Click and Stream™ Wizard that simplifies screen capture and publishing. With its exclusive ScreenWatch Live™ Webcasting module, lectures are broadcast live and recorded simultaneously for streaming on demand.
OPTX International’s President and CEO, Brian Meyerpeter, comments, “ScreenWatch Producer is the most advanced educational software available. There are lots of tools for producing PowerPoint presentations and recording screen activity. But there has never been a software application like ScreenWatch. Without programming, it combines audio, video, and full-motion screen capture in a multiplatform format so professors can capture live lectures, then simultaneously stream and archive them easily and quickly. The ScreenWatch Site Manager makes it easy for media departments to manage content produced by faculty and staff. With ScreenWatch Producer and Classroom Edition, educators have the easiest-to-use solution for capturing and steaming standup instruction, so why settle for anything else?”
The Classroom Edition offers many new easy-to-use features. ScreenWatch is the only software offering smooth cursor movement delivered over a low bandwidth so lectures can be received and played on almost any computer. With the automatically generated Slide Navigator’s table of contents, it’s easy to locate slides during lectures. The Presentation Manager tracks lectures published to local desktops, streaming servers, and CD-ROMs, and prints reports indicating lecture locations. ScreenWatch’s Click and Stream Wizard takes educators step-by-step through the simple recording process. It blends screen capture, audio, video, and automatically launches PowerPoint, Virtual Ink’s mimeo® whiteboard, and other applications.
The Classroom Edition’s bundle includes ScreenWatch software, wireless lavalier and handheld microphones, an Osprey video capture device, and RealProducer and Windows media encoders. It also features Virtual Ink’s mimio® attachment that captures everything written or drawn on a whiteboard for easy printing, emailing, editing, and sharing with users outside the classroom.
ScreenWatch Producer is the only screen capture software supporting RealServer, Linux®, Solaris™, HP-UX, and Windows 2000/NT systems. ScreenWatch records using Windows 2000 and XP. It plays back using RealNetworks® and Window media streaming technology.
OPTX serves universities requiring high-quality screen recording and playback. Harvard’s Business School and its JFK School of Government, Pace University, San Diego State University’s Public Health and Nursing Programs, Georgia Tech, University of Maryland, University of North Texas, Pennsylvania’s Montgomery Community College System, and other colleges have adopted ScreenWatch software. ScreenWatch is distributed worldwide. Visit www.screenwatch.com, call 530/899-2100 or e-mail sales@optx.com.
